Flammable liquid storage for research labs, pharma R&D, and university chemistry departments. 110-gallon capacity, FM certified, shipped direct from the factory.
Why Lab Storage Is a Different Problem Than Industrial
Industrial buyers think in pallets and forklifts. Lab buyers think in compliance paperwork.
Your problem isn’t just “where do I put these solvents.” It’s: multiple chemical types in one space, frequent access by different people, changing inventory, and an auditor who might walk in next quarter.
One non-compliant cabinet isn’t just a safety risk. It’s a finding on the next OSHA walkthrough.
This 110-gallon flammable safety cabinet (model HNJL-110) was designed around those constraints from day one.

5 Design Details Built Around Lab Workflows
1. Double-wall welded body — 30+ minutes passive fire protection
Two layers of cold-rolled steel with 38 mm fire insulation between them, fully welded. In a fire, the cabinet keeps internal temperature low enough for 30+ minutes — enough time for evacuation and response. Meets NFPA 30 construction requirements for flammable liquid storage cabinets.
2. Three-point locking mechanism with two keys — clear chain of custody
Three locking bolts engage simultaneously when the door closes — no gaps, no single-point failure. Two keys means two authorized people. That gives you documented accountability for chemical access, which matters when you’re tracking controlled solvents.
3. Dual adjustable vents with flame arrestors — for high-vapor-pressure solvents
Vents on both sides, each with a stainless steel flame arrestor screen. Opening is adjustable. For ethanol, acetone, toluene, and other high-evaporation solvents, open the vents fully and connect to an exhaust line. This keeps vapor concentration below the lower explosive limit (LEL). Vent design meets NFPA standards.
4. Bottom sump — catch leaks before they spread
A dedicated spill containment sump at the bottom tray. If a container cracks or a cap isn’t fully tightened, the liquid stays inside the cabinet. No lab floor contamination, no hazmat cleanup escalation.
5. Built-in grounding lug — one less ignition source
An internal grounding stud with 4 Ω max resistance. Connect it to the building’s grounding system and static charge dissipates before it can spark. This is the most common flammable liquid ignition path, and this cabinet addresses it at the design level.
Compatible Chemicals
This cabinet is suitable for:
- Common lab solvents: ethanol, methanol, acetone, acetonitrile, ethyl acetate, THF, dichloromethane
- Aromatic solvents: toluene, xylene, benzene
- Petroleum solvents: hexane, petroleum ether, mineral spirits
- Other flammable liquids: MEK, IPA, n-butanol
Do not store in this cabinet: explosives (TNT, azides), oxidizing acids (nitric, sulfuric), compressed gas cylinders, or radioactive materials. Those require dedicated storage equipment designed for their specific hazards.

Who Uses This Cabinet
University & research labs Organic synthesis, analytical chemistry, materials science — all of them go through multiple solvents daily. The 410+ liter interior gives you room to keep different chemical classes separated on adjustable shelves designed for various bottle and can sizes.
Pharmaceutical R&D facilities API development and formulation work runs on organic solvents. In a GMP environment, chemical storage needs to be documentable. The FM cert and OSHA-compliant design mean this cabinet can go straight into your facility SOP and audit files.
Biotech labs Cell culture rooms and protein purification labs burn through ethanol and IPA. These spaces also need the cabinet not to interfere with cleanroom airflow. The adjustable vent design connects to existing exhaust without adding uncontrolled variables.
Corporate industrial labs Automotive OEM paint labs, electronics solvent testing — these combine high-volume solvent use with strict plant safety codes. At 110 gallons, this cabinet hits a sweet spot where you get certified capacity without paying a premium for it.

Certifications
- FM Approved — Factory Mutual Research Corporation certification, the globally recognized standard for flammable liquid storage equipment
- OSHA Compliant — Meets 29 CFR 1910.106 requirements for flammable liquid storage
- NFPA 30 Compliant — Meets National Fire Protection Association code for flammable and combustible liquids
These three certs carry the most weight in North American procurement reviews. Hand them straight to your compliance team.
Shipped Direct From the Factory
No distributor. No markup. Every cabinet goes through three tests before it leaves — seal integrity, lock function, and ground resistance. Test records ship with the unit.
OEM options available: custom colors, dimensions, and labeling for institutions with standardized procurement specs.
